Rivkah

A chaser, a seeker, a storyteller of the sun—

a mother to three radiant souls and a fine art photographer who has spent over 17 years weaving magic into moments.

My spirit is bound to travel, deep connection, and soul-stirring conversations. I believe in chasing the poetry of existence, in following music through open windows, in letting the world leave its imprint on my heart. Beauty is my compass, my sanctuary, my soul’s religion. Wherever it calls, I go.

Kori

Conjurer of Light.

A woman of many layers, each one steeped in wisdom and experience. With a background spanning clinical therapy, life and fitness coaching, corporate marketing, and fine art photography, she has spent two decades weaving these diverse threads into a tapestry of profound transformation. Through her unique blend of skills, she captures the unseen, bringing to light the deeply felt, the quietly powerful, and the beautifully hidden.

How We Teach

We believe learning happens best in the wild.

Not behind a screen, not in a classroom — but on the mountaintop, in the meadows, in the fading golden glow. Wind in hair. Fog in rotation. Sun basked.

We teach by doing.

Watch us, then try it yourself.

This is where we’d place our subjects. This is how we’d guide them into connection with their surroundings. This is the why behind the image, and the how that brings it to life.

You’ll learn to:

  • Step into light, and shape it into story.
  • Lead with bravery, while giving space for natural unfolding.
  • Direct with clarity and confidence.
  • Create images that feel alive and unposed.

What You Will Learn

  • Light as Language – how to see, chase, and harness it.
  • Connection – guiding couples into honest emotion.
  • Direction – the art of balancing leadership with openness.
  • Tools & Techniques – our favorite lenses and approaches.
  • Confidence – practicing with live couples, carrying new skills into your own sessions and weddings.

You’ll leave with fresh portfolio images, practical tools, and an awakened way of seeing light and people.

Bonus: You'll make new friends!

Models

Two couples will join us:

  • One styled as bride + groom.
  • One in editorial-inspired attire.

You’ll have time with both, experimenting, directing, and creating.

Gear to Bring

  • DSLR or Mirrorless camera with at least one lens
  • Notebook
  • Warm jacket, sturdy, hiking shoes, layers for mountain weather, hat.
  • Optional: gloves, hand warmers, protein snack, and water

FAQ

Do I need to be an advanced photographer?

Not at all. SÓL is for those at the beginning, in the middle, or anywhere along the path. We ask that you come with a basic understanding of your camera (how to shoot in manual or semi-manual modes), but you don’t need to be an expert. What matters most is your curiosity and willingness to try.

What happens if it rains or the weather changes?

We embrace whatever the mountain gives us — fog, sun, wind, or golden glow. Weather is part of the story, and we’ll teach you how to use it as an ally. Unless conditions are unsafe, we’ll carry on. If we do need to reschedule, we’ll contact you right away.

Is lodging included?

No, lodging is not included. We’ll meet at Roan Mountain State Park Visitor Center and head up the mountain together.

Is food included?

No, please bring snacks and water. Mountain air builds hunger — pack a protein bar, fruit, or whatever fuels you best. (We may try to go grab food together afterwards!)

How physical is this workshop?

We’ll be hiking short, moderate trails (10–20 minutes at a time) with elevation and uneven terrain. Sturdy shoes and layers are a must. You don’t need to be an athlete, just comfortable with light hiking.

What if I shoot video, not just photos?

This workshop is geared toward photographers, but videographers are welcome. The principles of light, direction, and connection are universal, and you’ll still find inspiration here.

Will I get to photograph the models myself?

Yes! You’ll have hands-on time with both couples. This isn’t just watching us work — you’ll practice, direct, and create images for your portfolio.

What is your refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable. If something comes up and you can’t attend, you can sell or gift your spot to another photographer. Or future SÓL workshops

How many spots are available?

We’re keeping this small and intimate so everyone has space to learn, connect, and create. Once spots are gone, they’re gone. Liminting this workshop to 10 artists.
